    Revd Dr Sandra Millar, Team Leader of Life Events Church of England

    The Church of England is the market leader for all kinds of things, and for this project specifically Christenings, Weddings and Funerals. In 2012 the Archbishops Council commissioned Rev Dr Sandra Millar to promote the work of the church around these services.

    This has involved 5 website builds, a bunch on printed resources, new social media channels, email campaigns and lots of local conferences equipping clergy and laity to engage with new resources and perspectives on these ancient services.

    Orange and Blue are proud members of the team Sandra gathered helping to formulate and deliver this long term project. We now deliver communications consultancy and audience engagement.

    To gain some initial traction we launched 6 social media channels to compliment an existing 2. Some of these were aimed at clergy and some at the general public.
    We’re seeing some great engagement around our key messages. Regular reviews of content and analytics feeds into an adapting strategy and content planning as we continue to embed our key messages.

    With most of us getting too many emails, it has been a challenge to devise a content and list growth strategy that both respects the time demands on clergy but also encourages engagement with time-saving resources and ideas.
    Great design and careful content management means we have a fast growing list and excellent engagement rates.

    The Church of England Life Events team values the skills and insights that Orange and Blue bring to our work. Over the past four years they have helped us formulate a strategy and develop appropriate digital tools to engage with churches and those who come to them at life’s key moments – for weddings, funerals and christening.
